October Cool Food for Kids is Reaching Millions of School-Aged Children and their Families
NFRA and 26 sponsoring manufacturers are promoting healthy,
active lifestyles for children, as well as family togetherness at mealtime in
over 40,000 elementary schools during its October Cool Food for Kids educational
outreach initiative. Educational curriculum distributed to teachers across the
country will reach up to 4 million students and their families with messages
about the value of well-balanced meals, portion control and the benefits of
physical activity. The teacher’s kit contains multiple student activity pages,

Eastern Frosted Foods Association will host its Fall Dinner
on Tuesday, November 17 at 6:00 pm at the Hilton Hotel, Hasbrouck Heights, NJ. EFFA’s
Fall Dinner focuses on the students who have been selected to receive EFFA
Scholarships. Several colleges whose curriculum offers opportunities for

Castle & Cooke, established in 1851 as a real estate
corporation in Hawaii, announced the renaming of its two commercial refrigerated and dry storage warehouse
companies – Inland Cold Storage (ICS) and Madison Warehousing – as
Castle & Cooke Cold Storage. Headquarters for the newly named company,
which is celebrating its 30th anniversary this year, has moved to
Colton, Calif. from its previous location in Riverside. C&C Cold Storage, a
privately held company, encompasses complete warehousing and logistics
services, joining the forces and facilities of the former Inland Cold Storage,
a 10-facility company in California, and Madison Warehouse Corp., a 15-unit

Hanson Logistics, a provider of third party
temperature-controlled supply chain services, announced the company has been
named to Food Logistics’ 2009 Top 70 3PLs. Food Logistics, which
focuses on the movement of product through the food supply chain, announced the
fourth-annual listing of the Top 70 3PLs in its July/August 2009 issue. Food
Logistics first compiled its list of top third-party logistics providers in
2006. These 3PLs offer a broad scope of services and capabilities that enable
food companies to reduce costs, increase flexibility and improve service

Henningsen Cold Storage has made a substantial donation to
the Oregon Food Bank which has helped them get closer to their goal of raising
$8.5 million to expand their warehousing & distribution network in Oregon.
The fund raising campaign is intended to pay off the loan on a new $3 million
building in Beaverton, Oregon. Oregon Food Bank is moving from a crowded 15,000
sq. ft. building to a new 36,000 sq. ft. distribution center that will be able
to handle an additional 1.5 million pounds of perishable food per year. For
