Register for the Convention by June 5 to be in the First Pre-Registration List
The National Frozen & Refrigerated Foods Convention brings Monumental Value to your business by allowing you to meet with dozens of
companies in just a few days. Last year, over 50 supermarket chains were
represented at the Convention, and they reserved a record number of meeting
rooms to hold one-on-one customer business appointments. You must register by June 5 to be included in the first pre-registration list, which is used by
delegates to schedule appointments prior to the Convention. Don’t miss out on
this valuable opportunity.
Start Planning for October Cool Food for Kids Promotion
In October, NFRA will conduct an educational outreach
program called Cool Food for Kids that will teach children and their families
about timely health topics such as portion control and a balanced diet and how
frozen foods can play a part. Educational curriculum is being produced by Young
Minds Inspired and will be distributed to 40,000 elementary schools. To bring
the message in-store, NFRA will have Cool Food for Kids point of sale and
conduct a consumer sweepstakes. Plan now to promote frozen foods this October.

Celebration Foods, manufacturer and distributor of frozen
desserts, including Carvel, the original all ice cream cake, has been named the
recipient of the 2009 Plant of the Year Award by Food Engineering magazine. The company’s state of the art, single-source 135,000 sq ft plant
celebrated its one-year anniversary in February. Nominees for this coveted award must be a new food or
beverage plant in North America that demonstrates the best uses of food
manufacturing technology. Celebration Foods’ plant, constructed by contractor
Whiting Turner and engineering consultant TranSystems, was chosen as the
recipient of this year’s award for several reasons: the innovative engineering
demonstrated in new equipment designs, increased production output, energy
savings and the reduction in transportation and supply chain costs. For more
