2008 Retail Executive Conference Focuses on
the Latest Consumer and Industry Trends Affecting
Frozen and Refrigerated Foods

Harrisburg, PA — The 17th Annual Retail Executive Conference sponsored by the National Frozen & Refrigerated Foods Association (NFRA) will be held April 14-16, 2008 at the Tempe Mission Palms Hotel & Conference Center in Tempe, Arizona. The Conference highlights an interactive agenda including open forum discussion and a live consumer panel. It provides the perfect opportunity for frozen and refrigerated food industry executives to gain new perspectives on ever changing industry and consumer trends.

A full day of sessions on Tuesday will open with a retailer keynote address by Dave Bornmann, Vice President of Product Business Development for Grocery and Non-Foods for Publix Supermarkets. The Hartman Group will discuss current health and wellness trends and how to use this knowledge to form strategies in product development, branding and marketing. Michael Sansolo of MorningNewsBeat.com will address the numerous lessons on strategy and tactics that can be learned from Tesco, now the world’s third largest retailer. Iconoculture will take a refreshed look at “convenience,” including how it is defined by different generations, and how manufacturers and retailers can target their products and messages to specific generational groups. Greg Mertes, Merchandise Manager for Refrigerated Foods at Wal-Mart Super Centers will show delegates how leading manufacturers and retailers are creating sustainable development programs and why these practices represent a good business decision and an investment in the future.

This interactive Conference will also feature a live Baby Boomer Consumer Panel moderated by Carl Henninger of Willard Bishop Consulting which will provide insight into baby boomers’ needs and attitudes in shopping the frozen and refrigerated aisles.  And finally, the University of Arizona’s Students in Free Enterprise team whose challenge is to develop community outreach projects focused on market economics, success skills and business ethics will share their accomplishments and take questions from attendees.

The Conference will close early on Wednesday with a returning favorite – an open forum discussion facilitated by Warren Thayer of Refrigerated & Frozen Foods Retailer magazine on what manufacturers and retailers really need to build better relations.

Registration for this Conference is limited to the first 150 participants. For more information on the Retail Executive Conference or to register, contact NFRA at (717) 657-8601, info@nfraweb.org or visit http://www.nfraweb.org/newsletter87.html.
