National Frozen & Refrigerated Foods
Convention: Harrisburg, PA The National Frozen & Refrigerated Foods Convention, sponsored by National Frozen & Refrigerated Foods Association (NFRA) had a truly record-breaking year. The Convention, held October 19-23, 2003, in Las Vegas had the highest attendance since 1995 and the largest number of retailers reserving customer meeting rooms in the Conventions history. "Delegates have the opportunity to meet with dozens of customers throughout the Convention saving them the time and money of having single meetings spread out through the year," said Nevin B. Montgomery, President & CEO of NFRA. The Convention which focuses on one-on-one business appointments is the premier event for frozen and refrigerated industry executives to conduct business. This unique event brings together all segments of the industry including manufacturers, retailers, sales agents, logistics providers and suppliers allowing attendees to conduct more business in less time. A survey of delegates revealed networking and business appointments to be the top reasons for attendance. The Convention opened with the blockbuster Taste of Excellence Reception which was sold-out by manufacturers showcasing their newest and best frozen and refrigerated products. Several new additions to the Convention this year including a frozen and refrigerated equipment display compliments of Hussmann, a special Golden Penguin Awards Luncheon and the Café NFRA central break location used for informal meetings all received high marks from delegates. Planning is underway for the 2004 National Frozen & Refrigerated
Foods Convention to be held October 23-27, 2004 in Washington, DC. For
