Golden Penguin Awards Banquet to be Held at NFRA Convention HARRISBURG, PA In recognition of the outstanding promotional efforts of the frozen and refrigerated foods industry, the National Frozen & Refrigerated Foods Association (NFRA) will present the prestigious Golden Penguin Awards at a gala reception and banquet on Tuesday, October 26, 2004, during the National Frozen & Refrigerated Foods Convention in Washington, DC. Golden Penguin Awards are presented for successful merchandising efforts in support of March National Frozen Food Month, June Dairy Month and the June/July Summer Favorites Ice Cream & Novelties promotion. The Golden Penguin Award is recognized throughout the industry as a symbol of excellence. It represents dedication, innovation and success in the promotion of frozen and refrigerated foods. The Golden Penguin Awards program attracts entries from across the country and from professionals in all aspects of the frozen and refrigerated foods industry. Last year, NFRA presented 42 Golden Penguin Awards for promotions during March National Frozen Food Month and 25 Golden Penguins for June Dairy Month. This will be the first year that the Golden Penguin is awarded for the Summer Favorites Ice Cream & Novelties promotion. The Awards night will begin at 5:30 p.m. with a cocktail reception followed by a banquet. After the presentation of the awards, The Capitol Steps will provide the evening entertainment. This troupe of former congressional staffers travels the country satirizing the very people and places that once employed them. The seven-member cast is a constant transition of new costumes, props and music. Their political satire song parodies take potshots at the outrageous goings-on in Washington. To register for the Convention, or for more information, contact NFRA at (717) 657-8601 or visit www.nfraweb.org.
