NFRA Convention Offers Delegates a Golden Opportunity to Hear from Industry Experts

Harrisburg, PA – The 2005 National Frozen & Refrigerated Foods Convention to be held October 8-12, at the Hilton San Francisco, CA, will feature educational sessions with a retail and foodservice focus, as well as a school foodservice roundtable to complement its business oriented agenda.

The Monday, October 10 General Session, presented by Willard Bishop Consulting, Ltd., will look at the State of Grocery Retailing and Importance of Cold Space. Store differentiation and center store revitalization are two key components to any successful retail growth strategy. The refrigerated dairy case and frozen food departments continue to grow and are at the core of many store revitalization programs. In this session, learn how frozen foods and refrigerated dairy compares today to other departments and categories across the grocery store.

Also on Monday, delegates can sit with school foodservice representatives in an informal roundtable setting to discuss the "hot" issues that child nutrition foodservice operators are dealing with on daily basis. Understanding these relevant issues will help companies be more effective in meeting the needs of the foodservice industry. "Hot" topics include:

  • Balancing the act of feeding children: "healthy" meals vs. foods that children like to eat!
  • Purchasing foods that meet health and budget requirements.
  • Advocating for national policies that improve child nutrition programs.

The Tuesday, October 12 General Session presented by RQA, Inc., will examine Crisis Management & Product Recall in the Retail and Foodservice Industry. In today’s environment, companies have to be well prepared to respond to a product crisis with proper management systems, public relations support and practiced drills. This presentation will cover the causes and preventive measures companies should take to protect the consumer and their brand as a matter of good corporate governance.
