NFRA ... On the Red Carpet!

It’s a Mammoth March Frozen Food Month as NFRA joins Hollywood Stars for Ice Age The Meltdown Movie Premier

Hollywood, CA – Frozen foods are getting an extra promotional boost this month as the result of an attractive partnership between the National Frozen & Refrigerated Foods Association (NFRA) and Twentieth Century Fox, and the March 31 movie release of Ice Age The Meltdown.  Across the country, retailers, manufacturers and local associations are promoting frozen foods in a “Mammoth” way during NFRA’s 23rd annual March National Frozen Food Month.  Manny, Sid, Diego and other high profile characters from the Ice Age movie are lending their support and a sense of fun to the “Warm Up to Frozen” message touting the benefits and convenience of frozen foods to consumers.

The March 19 movie premier at Mann’s Grauman Chinese Theatre, Hollywood, celebrated the completed production of the highly anticipated Ice Age the Meltdown movie, ready for release to a global public audience on March 31.  According to the NFRA, the Hollywood premier also represented the “launch” of a very successful March Frozen Food Month “production.”

“There is no doubt the premier was an exciting event to attend,” commented Nevin Montgomery, NFRA President and CEO.  “But even more significant and enjoyable for NFRA was the satisfaction gained in seeing our industry as a significant element in the movie’s release to the public.  We are always looking for new and compelling ways to get to the consumer with insights into the features and benefits of frozen foods.  This alliance with Fox Studios has been very advantageous to our membership.”

The NFRA and Ice Age the Meltdown connection continues throughout 2006 as the characters join the “Family Freezer Pleasers” Ice Cream & Novelties promotion in June and July.  And the October Frozen Foods Festival will again deliver the “Warm Up To Frozen” message as the promotion centers on the DVD release of Ice Age the Meltdown.
