NFRA’s Family Freezer Pleasers Ice Cream & Novelties Promotion Set for June/July Harrisburg, PA – The National Frozen & Refrigerated Foods Association’s (NFRA) fifth annual Ice Cream & Novelties Promotion is ready to hit the frozen aisles this June and July. NFRA has partnered with 26 key Ice Cream and Novelties Brands to provide the industry with unique Family Freezer Pleasers promotional opportunities to boost category sales as summer temperatures begin to soar. High profile characters from the movie Ice Age The Meltdown will be joining in on the fun, delivering added excitement in promoting ice cream and novelties to consumers at store level. Featured this year is a Family Freezer Pleasers Retail Display Contest, with retailers from across the country competing for the coveted Golden and Silver Penguin Awards. Also featured is an exciting consumer $50,000 Online Instant Win Game, which will reside on NFRA’s consumer website www.BringUsToYourTable.com. NFRA is also offering a wide variety of thrilling, chilling Ice Age/Ice Cream & Novelties Point of Sale materials. The Retail Display Contest takes place between June 1, and July 31, 2006. Store managers, owners, operators and employees may enter for their store, in addition to sales agents, The Display Contest entry deadline is August 18, 2006. Golden and Silver Penguins will be awarded in six regions – Northeast, Southeast, East Central, West Central, Southwest and Pacific/Western. Award winners will receive industry-wide recognition at the Golden Penguin Awards banquet on October 10, 2006 during the National Frozen & Refrigerated Foods Convention in Orlando, FL. The Online Instant Win Game begins on June 1, 2006 and ends August 14, 2006, and encourages repeat visits to www.BringUsToYourTable.com. Consumers interact with participating brands as they play the game, and can win $50,000 instantly. NFRA has available many Ice Age/Ice Cream and Novelties specific Point of Sale materials and downloadable artwork to assist in creating displays and promoting the online game in the aisle, in store advertising and circulars, and on company web sites.
