New Refrigerated Food Promotion Debuts in August
Best Retail Promotions Can Win New Chillin’ Award

 

Harrisburg, PA – As the weather gets cooler and Fall schedules heat up, the End-of-Summer Back to Cool promotion will let consumers know they can get Back to Cool in the refrigerated aisle. It’s the perfect time to promote refrigerated foods for picnics, snacks, lunchboxes and more. The Back to Cool event runs from August 14 – September 29 to take advantage of those weekend picnics and the last chill out of the Summer, Labor Day.

The National Frozen & Refrigerated Foods Association (NFRA) and its partnering manufacturers will debut the End-of-Summer Back to Cool promotion with a $50,000 Back to Cool Online Instant Win Game and Retail Display Contest to build excitement with consumers. The Chillin’ Awards will recognize the best Retail Displays in support of Back to Cool. Store managers, owners, operators and employees may enter for their store, in addition to sales agents, manufacturer representatives and local associations.

The Display Contest runs from August 14, 2006 – September 29, 2006. Entrants most promote four of the participating manufacturer products and the $50,000 Back to Cool Online Instant Win Game that can be entered online at www.BringUsToYourTable.com. NFRA has designed special Point of Sale Materials featuring the Online Game information and web address that can be purchased. The entry deadline is October 20, 2006. Chillin’ Awards will be presented in six regions – Northeast, Southeast, East Central, West Central, Southwest and Pacific/Western.

The $50,000 Back to Cool Online Instant Win Game begins on August 14, 2006 and ends September 29, 2006, with prizes including: (1) $50,000 Grand Prize; (5) first prizes of $500 cash; (100) second prizes of a cooler bag. Consumers interact with participating brands as they play the game, and can win $50,000 instantly.

NFRA will support the promotion with Back to Cool print and radio releases distributed to media outlets across the country, directing consumers to enter the Online Game.

NFRA has available downloadable artwork of the Back to Cool logo, Chillin’ the cool penguin mascot and the Instant Win Game logo to assist in creating displays and promoting the Instant Win Game in the aisle, in store advertising and circulars and on company web sites.
