Warm Up to Frozen! NFRA’s 2006 October Frozen Food Festival

Harrisburg, PA— The National Frozen & Refrigerated Foods Association (NFRA) is again offering Mammoth marketing opportunities to promote all categories of frozen foods during the upcoming October Frozen Food Festival.

This annual promotion is getting an extra boost this year as NFRA has once again teamed up with Twentieth Century Fox and the Ice Age The Meltdown movie property. With the DVD release of the popular movie coming this Fall, it’s the perfect opportunity to promote the Warm Up to Frozen message and leverage the Ice Age characters and DVD release to sell more frozen foods in October.

The October Frozen Food Festival will be announced to over 10 million consumers in an FSI running in major newspapers on October 1, 2006. The FSI will feature the 23 sponsoring manufacturer brands and Warm Up to Frozen message. It will also introduce and encourage consumers to enter the $7,500 Warm Up to Frozen Sweepstakes on NFRA’s consumer web site, www.BringUsToYourTable.com.

Retailers have the opportunity to compete in the annual October Retail Display Contest, with a chance to win the new Arctic Crystal Award. The contest runs October 1-31, 2006 and requires entrants to build creative in-store displays featuring multiple frozen food products from the sponsoring brands. Store managers, owners, operators and employees may enter for their store, in addition to sales agents, manufacturer representatives and local associations. The entry deadline is November 20, 2006.

The Warm Up to Frozen $7,500 Consumer Sweepstakes resides on NFRA’s consumer web site, www.BringUsToYourTable.com and runs September 17 through November 30, 2006. Grand Prize is a Home Entertainment Theatre featuring a 50” Plasma TV and Surround Sound System.

NFRA has available many Ice Age/October Frozen Food Festival specific Point of Sale materials and downloadable artwork to assist in creating displays and promoting the Sweepstakes in the aisle, in store advertising and circulars, and on company web sites.                         The October Frozen Food Festival is part of NFRA’s Bring Us To Your Table! Freezer Favoritescampaign. This all-industry promotional effort was introduced in 2002 with the objective to bring more consumers into the frozen food aisles and increase usage/sales across all product lines by promoting the convenience, quality, taste and meal solution aspects of frozen foods through a warm appetite-appealing presentation of the category.
