NFRA Announces Gold & Silver Penguin Award Winners for 2006 June Dairy Month Promotion

Harrisburg, PA—The National Frozen & Refrigerated Foods Association (NFRA) recently held its fourth annual Golden Penguin Awards Competition to recognize the best merchandising efforts in support of June Dairy Month. The June promotion helped the industry increase visibility and sales in the refrigerated dairy department. Advertising and in-store displays created excitement in the aisles and increased traffic driving sales for many categories and brands.

NFRA honored 26 Gold Penguin winners and 15 Silver Penguin winners from across the country in 13 different retail categories. Click here for a complete list of winners.

Judges looked for the most creative efforts in a month-long program. Requirements included use of the Bring Us To Your Table! Cool Favorites logo and the www.BringUsToYourTable.com consumer website. Winners clearly demonstrated their promotional efforts through the use of in-store consumer programs, advertising, community service and education, creative use of merchandising materials and special displays.

Golden Penguin Awards will be presented at the 2006 National Frozen & Refrigerated Foods Convention to be held October 7-10 in Orlando, FL. Winners will be recognized during a special awards banquet on Tuesday, October 10. Silver Penguins are typically presented at the local level at appropriate refrigerated food association meetings.
