Business Meetings Are Focus of Convention

2007 National Frozen & Refrigerated Foods Convention Slated for October 13-16

Harrisburg, PA – The 2007 National Frozen & Refrigerated Foods Convention provides a unique opportunity for frozen and refrigerated food industry executives to conduct face-to-face business meetings with multiple customers in just a few days. The National Frozen & Refrigerated Foods Association (NFRA), sponsor of the Convention, will hold this year’s event October 13-16, at the San Antonio Marriott Rivercenter in San Antonio, Texas.

The Convention is designed to bring together leading companies from every segment of the industry in one venue to conduct more business in less time. NFRA arranges for Retailers to have complimentary meeting rooms so they may schedule one-on-one appointments with attendees. On average, delegates can hold a dozen or more of these “Customer Business Meetings” throughout the Convention, ultimately reducing everyone’s time out of the office and the expense of extensive travel. Last year, the Convention drew over 1,200 delegates including over 140 retailers reserving customer meeting rooms.

The Convention – themed Rounding Up the Industry – is structured to provide valuable networking opportunities for attendees from beginning to end. The Convention will kick off with the popular Taste of Excellence Reception where frozen and refrigerated food companies can showcase their latest products. An annual Convention highlight, the Taste of Excellence gives delegates the chance to meet with industry colleagues while sampling the newest products in frozen and refrigerated foods.

This year’s schedule features Monday morning breakfast speaker Fred Barnes, journalist and political commentator. The general session on Monday will be presented by Todd Hale of Nielsen. Hale will lead a discussion panel of frozen and refrigerated industry experts to identify how manufacturers and retailers are successfully leveraging these categories.

Former major league pitcher, Dave Dravecky will share his compelling story at Tuesday’s Breakfast. In addition on Monday and Tuesday, NFRA is hosting a School Foodservice Consortium for large school districts with over 75,000 students to discuss their unique business environment and the challenges of addressing today’s student nutrition and health needs.

Closing the Convention, a special awards reception and banquet will honor the Golden Penguin Award winners for March National Frozen Food Month, June Dairy Month and the June/July Ice Cream & Novelties promotion.
