National Frozen & Refrigerated
Foods Convention HARRISBURG, PA The 2004 National Frozen & Refrigerated Foods Convention held each year in October is already setting a record pace for number of registrations received. The National Frozen & Refrigerated Foods Association (NFRA), sponsor of the Convention, will hold this years event October 23-27, at the Marriott Wardman Park in Washington, DC. This popular Convention gathers frozen and refrigerated food industry decision-makers from across the U.S. at a single venue allowing attendees to conduct multiple key business meetings in one locationlimiting time and travel costs. Last year, the Convention had its highest attendance since 1995, and the largest number of retailers reserving customer meeting rooms in the Conventions history. The Conventionthemed A Capital Experienceallows ample time for conducting business, as well as provides networking opportunities to help delegates develop working relationships within the industry. Every Convention event is structured to bring all segments of the frozen and refrigerated foods industry together for valuable interaction. The Convention will kick off with the popular Taste of Excellence Reception where frozen and refrigerated food companies can showcase their latest products. An annual Convention highlight, the Taste of Excellence gives delegates the chance to meet with industry colleagues while sampling the newest, great-tasting, high-quality frozen and refrigerated foods. This years schedule features a general session presented by ACNielsen focusing on key consumer trends that are shaping our industry including: health issues, aging, ethnicity, and speed of life. The Convention will also include a retail workshop and a foodservice workshop. Refrigerated & Frozen Foods Retailer magazine will present original consumer research, conducted in cooperation with NFRA, which focuses on consumers shopping habits. Also, EastWest Creative will present Foodservice for Thought, a workshop that will outline a real world approach for foodservice providers to combat the obesity battle among children. In addition, a special awards reception and banquet has been planned to present the Golden Penguin Awards for March National Frozen Food Month, June Dairy Month and the June/July Summer Favorites Ice Cream & Novelties promotion. Special entertainment for this gala event will be provided by The Capitol Steps. Returning to the Convention is Café NFRA, a central break location set-up with café-style tables where delegates can gather for informal meetings throughout the Convention. Near the Café, there will be a frozen and refrigerated new product packaging display, in cooperation with Hussmann, where sponsors of the Bring Us To Your Table!
