Summer Favorites Ice Cream & Novelties Promotion Set for June/July

Harrisburg, PA—The National Frozen & Refrigerated Foods Association’s (NFRA) fourth annual Ice Cream & Novelties Promotion will provide consumers with cool savings and hot sales for the categories. NFRA has partnered with key ice cream and novelties manufacturers to provide the industry with unique Summer Favorites promotional opportunities that are sure to create excitement.

Retailers from across the country can participate in the Summer Favorites Retail Display Contest and compete for the coveted Golden Penguin Award. For consumers, there is the Summer Favorites $32,500 On-Line Instant Win Game, which will reside on NFRA’s consumer website www.BringUsToYourTable.com. Consumers interact with participating brands as they play the game, and can win the Grand Prize of $25,000 instantly. The Instant Win Game encourages repeat visits to the website where consumers can find recipes, tips and link to the sponsors’ websites.

The Display Contest takes place between June 1, and July 31, 2005. Store managers, owners, operators and employees may enter for their store, in addition to sales agents, manufacturer representatives and local associations. The requirements are to build three different displays during the nine week promotion, containing at least one ice cream and one novelty product of the sponsoring brands. The Summer Favorites $32,500 On-Line Instant Win Game must be promoted, directing consumers to www.BringUsToYourTable.com for entry into the contest, and the Bring Us To Your Table!® Freezer Favorites slogan must be promoted in the display.

The Display Contest entry deadline is August 19, 2005. Gold and Silver Penguins will be awarded in six regions—Northeast, Southeast, East Central, West Central, Southwest and Pacific/Western. Award winners will receive industry-wide recognition at the Golden Penguin Awards banquet on October 11, 2005 during the National Frozen & Refrigerated Foods Convention in San Francisco, CA.

The On-Line Instant Win Game begins on June 1, 2005 and ends August 15, 2005, with online entries to be made at www.BringUsToYourTable.com. The prize structure includes (1) Grand Prize of $25,000; (5) First Prizes of $500 cash; and (100) Second Prizes of an assortment of free ice cream & novelties coupons in a Cooler Bag.

NFRA has available many ice cream and novelties specific point of sale materials and downloadable artwork to assist in creating displays and promoting the On-Line Instant Win Game in the aisle, in store advertising and circulars, and on company websites.
