Annual June Dairy Month Boosts Refrigerated
Sales Harrisburg, PA The National Frozen & Refrigerated Foods Association (NFRA) will hold its third annual June Dairy Month promotion in 2005. June Dairy Month is an exciting opportunity for the industry to increase visibility and sales in the refrigerated dairy department. Thanks to the many extensive promotions during June, the refrigerated dairy department saw positive incremental sales last year according to Information Resources Inc., and refrigerated dollar sales outpaced the remainder of the store during both of the first two years of the promotion. The June Dairy Month promotion will receive double the exposure in 2005 with two FSI drops. First, a two-page FSI circulated to 14.5 million consumers will drop on June 5, 2005. The ad will feature coupons and product images from the ten sponsoring manufacturers and will also direct readers to the NFRA consumer website, www.BringUsToYourTable.com, where they can enter the $7,500 Cool Favorites Sweepstakes. Then, a one-page follow-up FSI will drop on June 19, 2005 in the same markets. The FSI will remind consumers to visit the refrigerated dairy aisles to look for the sponsoring brands and to enter the consumer sweepstakes. The two FSIs will have a 29 million total circulation! The Consumer Sweepstakes begins on May 29, 2005 and ends on July 29, 2005, with online entries to be made at www.BringUsToYourTable.com. There will be (1) Grand Prize of $5,000; (1) First Place Prize of $1,000; and (3) Second Place Prizes of $500. In addition to entering the sweepstakes online, visitors to www.BringUsToYourTable.com have access to meal solution ideas, recipes, preparation and storage guidelines, games for kids and much more. NFRA will include a media relations initiative as part of the June Dairy Month promotion. Press releases will be sent to media outlets nationwide to announce the many savings opportunities consumers can find in the refrigerated dairy aisles during June. The same type of media effort conducted for March Frozen Food Month in 2004 reached over 60 million consumers! Also reaching consumers, NFRAs new Stay Cool e-newsletter, will be e-mailed to nearly 40,000 people in May, promoting June Dairy Month and providing a direct link to the Cool Favorites Sweepstakes. NFRA has created a June Idea Book containing many ideas and resources that are available to help companies plan a month-long promotion for June. The Idea Book also includes a complete catalog of June Dairy Month point of sale and specialty items which can be used by companies to support the program at the retail level. Specially designed June POS incorporates the Bring Us To Your Table! ® Cool Favorites logo and "cool" penguin mascot.
