
NFRA is partnering with DreamWorks Animation for the theater
release of Monsters vs. Aliens. This is a great opportunity to leverage
the March 2009 movie release to generate excitement, promote frozen foods and
enhance customer experience at store level.

Frozen Foods – Monstrous Value
The creative concept, Frozen Foods –
Monstrous Value, will tie together Monsters vs. Aliens with efforts to
promote frozen foods during March Frozen Food Month. The thematic will be used
in the national FSI, on POS materials and on NFRA’s consumer website.
37 Million National FSI Circulation
A three-page FSI circulated to 37 million
consumers will drop on March 1, 2009. It will include coupons and product
photos of the participating brands. The FSI will also announce March Frozen
Food Month and the consumer sweepstakes hosted on www.EasyHomeMeals.com.

Consumer Sweepstakes
Promoted nationally in the FSI the $10,000 Sweepstakes will
attract consumer interest and entries. Consumers can enter online at www.EasyHomeMeals.com. NFRA members
are encouraged to promote the sweepstakes as an added value to consumers.
Point of Sale Materials
POS materials featuring the Monsters vs.
Aliens characters will be available, as well as generic March Frozen Food
Month POS. An Idea Book offering promotional ideas and showing all the POS
items will be available.
Consumer Website
NFRA’s redesigned consumer website, www.EasyHomeMeals.com,
will feature the sweepstakes and the March Frozen Food Month sponsoring brands.
Visitors to the site can also find frozen food tips and recipes.
Consumer Media Initiative
A press release and radio spot will be distributed to media outlets
across the country announcing the many savings opportunities consumers can find
in the frozen aisles in March. NFRA will also devote an issue of its consumer
e-newsletter, Stay Cool, to the
promotion and link consumers directly to the sweepstakes.
Golden Penguin Awards
March Frozen Food Month will offer another opportunity to win the prestigious
Golden Penguin Award for outstanding merchandising during March. Awards will be
presented at the National Frozen & Refrigerated Foods Convention in
Washington, DC, October 17-20, 2009.
