Bringing Families Together for March Frozen Food Month

Harrisburg, PA—The National Frozen & Refrigerated Foods Association (NFRA) is hitting close to home with its 2010 March National Frozen Food Month promotion – Bringing Families Together with Easy Home Meals. As preparing more meals at home experiences a revival among consumers, this campaign incorporates the growing trend by explaining the benefits of frozen foods and the quality of meal solutions for all occasions.  
 
Among the highlights of this family mealtime theme is a three-page FSI and the Easy Home Meals $10,000 Sweepstakes. The national FSI will be distributed to over 37 million homes on March 7, 2010, showcasing coupons and product shots of the 22 participating sponsors and the Bringing Families Together theme. The $10,000 Easy Home Meals Sweepstakes will be located on NFRA’s consumer website, www.EasyHomeMeals.com. Announcements promoting the Sweepstakes will be found among many sources, including NFRA’s consumer Stay Cool e-newsletter, on participating manufacturer and retailer websites, and in-store displays.
 
NFRA members will have a variety of resources to engage and encourage consumer participation in the March Frozen Food Month campaign. Several redesigned POS materials are being introduced this year, along with a new Reusable Freezer Bag, to help advance in-store promotions. Important marketing tools, such as the March Idea Book and the consumer media releases, will also inspire creativity for the in-store displays entering the celebrated Golden Penguin competition.
 
The Golden Penguin Awards contest for March Frozen Food Month will recognize excellent promotions in many categories, including a division of the Manufacturer category into Private Brands and Branded entries. Winners will accept their awards at the National Frozen & Refrigerated Foods Convention in San Francisco, CA, in October 2010. 
 
NFRA is a non-profit trade association representing all segments of the frozen and refrigerated foods industry. Headquartered in Harrisburg, PA, NFRA is also the sponsor of the June Dairy Month, June/July Ice Cream & Novelties promotion and October Cool Food for Kids educational outreach program.
