NFRA Convention Welcomes Renowned Speakers Phil Lempert and Judy Woodruff

Harrisburg, PA – The breakfast sessions at the National Frozen & Refrigerated Foods Convention continue to be highlight events, offering attendees the chance to start off their busy days with informative speeches and conversations with colleagues. The 2010 Convention in San Francisco, CA, is no exception, featuring two must-see speakers, current PBS NewsHour co-anchor Judy Woodruff on Monday, October 18, and consumer trends analyst and author Phil Lempert on Tuesday, October 19.
At the Monday morning breakfast session, NFRA will present admired broadcast journalist, Judy Woodruff. Judy brings decades of broadcast experience and coverage of eight presidential elections to the table as one of America’s most accomplished political journalists. She is currently co-anchor and senior correspondent for the PBS NewsHour, as well as host of Conversations with Judy Woodruff, a news interview program on Bloomberg Television. Her presentation will draw from major national and international stories, providing an inside perspective of the politics in play. She’ll share her take on reporting and interacting with the Washington political scene including an up-to-the-minute look at the Obama Administration, Congress and the 2010 midterm elections.
At the Tuesday morning breakfast session, Phil Lempert, will share his industry knowledge and insight as an expert analyst on consumer behavior, marketing trends, new products and the changing retail landscape for more than 25 years. Known as The Supermarket Guru®, Phil is the food trends editor and correspondent for NBC News’ Today show, where he reports on consumer trends, food safety and money-saving tips, as well as showcases new products. His presentation will focus on keeping businesses a step ahead and anticipating retail shifts, as consumers adjust their buying habits to get on the road to recovery from the slumping economy. He’ll also examine what’s changed forever and what traits from before the downturn remain. In preparation for his speech, Phil polls his online consumer panel of over 80,000 members for their attitudes on issues relevant to the industry.
