 The annual National Frozen & Refrigerated Foods Convention is being held October 11-14 at the San Diego Marriott Marina, San Diego, CA. Over 1,200 attendees, including 150 retailers, attended the National Frozen & Refrigerated Foods Convention last year, and scheduled one-on-one business meetings. Amy’s Kitchen recently debuted a new line of microwavable hot cereal bowls—oatmeal, cream of rice, steel cut oats and multi-grain. Each cereal is sweetened with pure organic agave nectar. The Mid-Atlantic Food Trades Organization (MAFTO) recently presented Joe Sanford with the Cofer Scholarship Award. The H.J. “Jack” Cofer, Jr. Scholarship Program was established in 1986 in the memory of Jack Cofer, who at the time of his death was NFRA Treasurer and President of SeaPak Corporation. Since the first scholarship was awarded in 1987, NFRA has continued to award local associations to assist them in their efforts to provide financial aid to students pursuing a career in the food industry. To date, NFRA has awarded $105,000 in scholarships.
