NFRA’s two-page FSI featuring the Kung Fu Panda movie characters dropped on June 1st, and the Dairy Smart Dairy Strong $7,500 Sweepstakes is live on EasyHomeMeals.com. NFRA is further communicating positive refrigerated messages with a mass distributed media release and radio spot and through our consumer e-newsletter. Be sure to document your in-store programs for entry in the Golden Penguin Awards Competition. Entries are due August 12.

Join a Record Number of Registrants for the Premier Business Event in the Industry
Over 550 delegates have already registered and begun scheduling business meetings at the National Frozen & Refrigerated Foods Convention, October 11-14, at the San Diego Marriott Marina. The Convention offers a valuable opportunity to meet one-on-one with multiple customers in just a few days. Register before July 14 to be included in the next pre-registration list, used by delegates to schedule business appointments prior to arriving in San Diego.

Promote Frozens as Cool Food for Kids in October
NFRA’s October promotion, Cool Food for Kids, will teach children and their families about timely health topics such as eating a balanced diet and portion control and how frozens can play a part through an educational outreach program delivered to 20,000 elementary schools across the country. To bring the message in-store, NFRA will have Cool Food for Kids point of sale, a consumer sweepstakes, and other media support. The Cool Food for Kids Idea Book and Point of Sale Catalog will contain all the details of the promotion and will be available online in a couple weeks.

According to the Rocky Mountain News, WhiteWave Foods is launching Rachel's Wickedly Delicious Yogurt, a longtime U.K. favorite, to mainstream American grocery stores. The lowfat natural yogurt comes in flavors such as Pomegranate Blueberry, Pink Grapefruit Lychee and Plum Honey Lavender, and are slated to show up at SuperTarget and Safeway’s Lifestyle stores as well as Harris Teeter, Publix and Jewel-Osco outside of Colorado. Broomfield-based White Wave first introduced Rachel’s to natural-food stores such as Whole Foods and Vitamin Cottage last year, and it quickly became the top-selling yogurt in the natural foods channel according to Carolina Fryer, Rachel’s brand manager.
