Association Annual Business Meeting Announcement
The National Frozen & Refrigerated Foods Association is pleased to extend an invitation to all NFRA members for the 63rd Annual Membership Meeting & Luncheon. Pursuant to Article II, Sections 3 & 4 of the bylaws of the Association, the Annual Meeting will be held during the National Frozen & Refrigerated Foods Convention on Monday, October 15, 2007 in San Antonio, Texas.

The Annual Meeting will begin with a luncheon at 12:00 noon in the San Antonio Marriott Rivercenter. All members of NFRA are full voting members and are eligible to vote during this Annual Meeting. The senior or designated officer at each NFRA member company represented at the Annual Meeting shall cast his/her company’s official vote. 

Bring Consumers Fresh Ideas for Frozen Foods in October
The October Frozen Food Festival will be announced in a one-page FSI to 15 million homes on September 30, 2007. NFRA will launch the Fresh Ideas in Frozens $7,500 Sweepstakes on the EasyHomeMeals.com website to create even more excitement around the promotion. October point of sale is available to decorate the aisles and draw consumers in to see the Fresh Ideas and Great Tastes that frozen foods have to offer. Convention Continuing to Grow in 2007
ConventionThe National Frozen & Refrigerated Foods Convention is the place to meet with over 970 people already registered – 10% more than last year. Already 140 retailers have registered and will be available to meet with Convention delegates. Due to the overwhelming response, rooms at the San Antonio Marriott Rivercenter are sold out. We have secured a block of rooms at the new La Quinta Inn & Suites across the street. Register now to get the La Quinta room rate of $169 per night. The deadline to be in the next pre-registration list, used by delegates to schedule business appointments, is August 10.

2008 March Frozen Food Month
National FSI Program

Plans are already underway for another big promotion in March 2008. The promotion will include a 3-page FSI, a consumer sweepstakes, themed point of sale materials and the Golden Penguin competition. NFRA is now taking commitments from brands that want to participate in the FSI. This program offers national circulation and couponing opportunities at a huge savings over placing your own FSI. Hanson Logistics recently announced a multi-year agreement with Dole Packaged Foods to lease Hanson’s Decatur Michigan Facility. The frozen and refrigerated facility can accommodate 7,500 pallet positions configured for bulk and processed fruit and vegetables. Hanson Logistics is currently constructing a 14,500,000 cu. ft. Golbon announced the addition of Sin Lee Food Corp. and Tommy’s Quality Meat Co. Sin Lee Food is a fresh poultry distributor servicing Asian restaurants and retail stores in the San Diego area. The USA Rice Federation recently announced H-E-B Grocery of San Antonio, TX as Chain Retailer of the Year. The award recognizes H-E-B’s outstanding promotional efforts on behalf of the U.S. rice industry. The award was presented at the Rice Millers Association convention in Nassau, Bahamas.
