NFRA Creates Cool Chef Video Library for Members
NFRA is partnering with MarketMetric to create twelve online streaming videos that will feature a cook/chef preparing a recipe or meal using frozen and refrigerated foods. Two of the videos will also promote March Frozen Food Month and June Dairy Month. This video library will be available at no cost to NFRA members, providing free web content that will encourage usage and sales of frozen and refrigerated foods. As the year comes to a close, Mintel’s trendspotters have predicted 10 key trends that will shape the consumer packaged goods (CPG) industry in the New Year. Industry Campaign Reaches Millions of Consumers with Frozen Food Message
In 2007 as we transition from Bring Us To Your Table! to the new Frozen Foods – Fresh Ideas. Great Taste. tagline, we will continue to reach out to consumers with the frozen food message. Last year, NFRA sent five press releases – including two translated into Spanish – and six radio spots to consumer press around the country. Newspaper placements totaled 2,392 reaching 115 million consumers. Radio spots aired 1,549 times reaching an audience of 108.8 million. In addition, the campaign helped to fund a consumer e-newsletter, the development of point of sale material for all our promotions, a year-round planning guide and more. United States Cold Storage recently announced the construction of a major new facility in Fresno, CA. This newest facility will be a showcase in industrial and economic redevelopment. Being built on the former Producers Cotton Oil Company 39 acre parcel the facility will be the largest single expansion in the history of United States Cold Storage. In addition, Fresno will be capable of blast freezing 240,000 pounds of product per day and providing cross-docking services with a 60 foot refrigerated dock area.
