Produce for a Better Health Foundation (PBH) congratulates the United States Department of Agriculture on the newly announced changes in the Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants, and Children.  The addition of vouchers to low-income women, infants, and children for fruits and vegetables represents the most significant change in the program in almost 30 years.  Elizabeth Pivonka, Ph.D., R.D., President and CEO of Produce for Better Health Foundation, says that they are “pleased all forms of fruits and vegetables are included; fresh, frozen, canned, dried and 100 percent juice.  This is consistent with the Dietary Guidelines for Americans and will provide moms with more convenience and flexibility when serving fruits and veggies.”  For more information, visit www.fruitsandveggiesmorematters.org
